Recent Artwork & In-Progress Projects
PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT accepting canvas commission requests at this time. This summer I am focusing on larger projects and finishing up loose ends and pieces. If you have questions about mural work and larger projects for the fall please contact Miss Alison and firstname.lastname@example.org
Hello there! I am Miss Alison, Operator of Switchboard Studios & Gallery located Above Kettle Works. I am an illustrator at heart who enjoys painting large scale wall murals and canvas pieces that mesh together large patterns and imaginative concepts. I like to tailor my art to the person/ business I am creating for and always hope to have a BIG IMPACT on the community and people around my pieces. My preferred medium is acrylic paint because I move FAST and ain't nobody got time to watch oil paint dry. I can often be found working on several projects at one time from BYOB Paint n' Sip party ideas to wall-sized masterpieces in businesses and homes. I enjoy sparking both joy and confidence in my peers. My artist friends and colleagues often refer to me as a "whirlwind" of creative energy and motivation. Sitting still is not in my repertoire!
I thoroughly enjoy writing and keep a blog for your viewing pleasure on this site. I host poetry slams on the 2nd Friday of every month at Switchboard Studios & Gallery where local writers can have a safe space to share their poetry, spoken word, short stories, song lyrics, stand-up and whatever words happen to inspire them.
At the end of it all, I love to teach and I prefer my art be made in a way that it can be shared with others. Community Volunteer Wall Murals are my jam and I LOVE creating large paint-by-number images that anyone can pick up a brush and help be apart of. I've recently partnered up with Coexist Glass Gallery in Steelton to start working on building a team of artists to work with glass and do community mosaic murals. I am honored to be with such a groovy group of go-getters and artists to start growing this idea and taking off for the stars. The project to spread love and art all over the place is called Coexist In Kindness and we are shouting 'Unity Through Community" at the tops of our lungs.
... and sometimes I yoga :)

There's nothing quite like painting a glow in the dark haunted mansion while you are IN a haunted mansion! And you get to ghost hunt while you are there!
What Is This Place?
I have been exploring the possibilities in which my art degree and life experiences through gymnastics, coaching. and yoga might be able to co-exist in one place. And who would have guessed I would find it inside an old sewing factory?! What charm!
The studio is a place to come and find your sense of wonder. Whether you are a little tater-tot coming to learn about art history or a grown up who needs to stretch and smile, Miss Alison's is the ultimate place to learn something new. Maybe even about yourself!

Our mission is to learn how to embrace the best versions of ourselves, push our own limits, and find enjoyment in every movement we make through art and yoga.
Come one, come all! Learning should be an ENJOYABLE experience, and here at Miss Alison's Studio, my main focus is making sure that whether you are picking up a paint brush or rolling out your mat, the time you spend here is the escape you need it to be.
Relax. Breathe. And for goodness sake, SMILE! We retain more information when we enjoy our experience learning it. There is no better teacher than experience and that's just what I aim to provide. Located on the second floor of the Columbia Kettle Works building, Miss Alison's Studio takes residency in the Switchboard Studios and Gallery. We play here, we create here, we giggle, wiggle and shake here. And heck, you can bring up your beer!
